the face (and camera) behind Shutter Up Photography!

If you told me back in 2001 that taking a photography job “just to pay the bills” would turn into my lifelong passion, I probably would’ve laughed. But here we are — more than two decades later, and I can’t imagine doing anything else!

I fell in love with photography the first time I got to work with kids. There’s just something about the giggles, the honesty, and the pure joy that little ones bring to a session that completely hooked me. Since then, my camera has taken me on the most amazing adventures — from watching families grow, to celebrating graduating seniors, to capturing couples in love, and even hanging out with all the adorable pets over at Yarn & Bone (where chaos and cuteness collide 🐾). I’ve also had the honor of partnering with the Breastfeeding Coalition of Delaware for fundraising projects — something that has truly filled my heart and reminded me how powerful photography can be in bringing people together.

When people ask what I love photographing most, I never have a simple answer — because honestly, I love it all. Newborns, families, seniors, pets, couples… if it’s alive and full of personality, I’m your girl!

My sessions are guided, comfortable, and full of laughter. I know not everyone feels natural in front of a camera, so I walk you through every pose — giving you direction while still keeping things light and fun. You’ll never have to wonder what to do with your hands or how to stand; I’ve got you covered every step of the way.
